Jose F Martinez

Jose Fernando “Junior” Martinez, age 63, passed away suddenly December 5, 2007 at his home in San Ignacio. Jose was born June 18, 1944 in San Ignacio, NM to the home of Jose Efren and Albina Madrid Martinez. He was a longtime cattle rancher in San Ignacio. Jose loved playing the guitar and listening to music, horseback riding and caring for his animals. He is preceded in death by his father, his brother; Albert Martinez and his nephew; Fredrick Martinez. Survivors include his mother Albina Martinez of the family home in San Ignacio, two sisters; Emma Romero of San Ignacio and Rose Galvan and husband Arthur of Dallas, TX, seven brothers; Roman Martinez and wife Dilly of Santa Rosa, Eli Madrid and wife Bernadette, Johnny Martinez and wife Irene of Dallas, TX, Jimmy Martinez and wife Marcia of Albuquerque, Rudy Madrid and wife Martha of Denver, CO, Herman Martinez and wife Debbie of Santa Rosa and Ted Martinez and wife Angie of Santa Rosa. Also surviving are numerous nieces, nephews other relatives and many friends. Rosary services will be held on Thursday, December 6, at 7:00 PM from St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church in Santa Rosa, NM. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, December 7, at 11:00 AM from St. Rose of Lima Church with Father Nick Nichols officiating. Burial will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery.
