Jessie M. Roberts

Jessie M. Roberts, 91 of Santa Fe, NM died Sunday, April 27, 2008 at her home following an illness. Jessie was born July 11, 1916 in Canadian, TX to the home of John Emory and Willa Mae (Reynolds) Black. She was raised at Raton, NM where she attended high school. Jessie married Burva D. Roberts on March 23, 1939 at Raton, NM. She worked many years for the AT&T Phone Company as a telephone operator. She retired in June 1980. Jessie was preceded in death by her husband Burva Roberts in 1983. She was a loving mother and grandmother and will be missed by her son John Roberts and his wife Doris of Santa Fe, NM; a daughter Karen Davis of Tyler, TX; 10 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. Graveside services will be held at 3:00 pm Tuesday, April 29, 2008 from Tucumcari Memorial Park Cemetery, Tucumcari, NM. Arrangements are under the direction of Chavez Funeral Home in Fort Sumner, New Mexico.
