Sally Duran

Sally Duran, 69 of Vaughn, NM died Monday, January 07, 2008 at her home. She was born February 20, 1938 at Vaughn to the home of Chrisosto and Virginia (Padilla) Arguello. She was a lifelong Vaughn, NM resident. Sally enjoyed music and loved to play her keyboard. She enjoyed baking and had a wonderful sense of humor. Sally married Paul Duran on December 24, 1959 at Vaughn, NM. She was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Vaughn. Sally was preceded in death by her husband Paul Duran and her parents. Survivors include a daughter; Lucarol Apodaca and husband Sam; a son Raymond Duran all of Vaughn, NM; three grandchildren Samuel Joseph Apodaca, Nicole Rael and Alonzo Reynaldo Apodaca; one great-grandchild Jasmine Quintana, four sisters Lucy Trujillo of Vaughn; Ermalinda Sanchez and husband Leo of Roswell; Sarah Cordova and husband Manual of Albuquerque; Carmen Escarcega and husband Ramon of Albuquerque; three brothers Chris Arguello Jr. of Vaughn; Pete Arguello and wife Christine of Oklahoma; and Raymond Arguello and wife Carrie of Roswell. Rosary services will be held at 7:00 PM Tuesday, January 8, 2008 from Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Encino, NM. Mass will be held at Our Lady of Guadalupe at 10:00 AM Wednesday, January 9, 2008 with Father John Jasinski officiating burial will follow at Evergreen Cemetery, Vaughn, New Mexico. Pallbearers will be Leo Sanchez Sr., Albert Sanchez, Harold Sanchez and Adrian Aragon. Honorary bearers will be Nicole Rael, Jasmine Aragon, Samuel Joseph Apodaca, and Alonzo Reynaldo Apodaca.
