Magdalena G. Sandoval, 78 a longtime Encino, NM business owner died Sunday, May 18, 2008 in Los Lunas, NM following an illness. Magdalena was born December 13, 1929 to the home of Blas and Ursula Garcia. Magdalena married Fidel A. Sandoval on July 2, 1947at Vaughn, NM. She and Fidel owned and operated the Sandoval Service Station in Encino for over 53 years. Magdalena was a member of Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Encino and the Mile High Extension Club in Vaughn, NM. She was preceded in death by her husband Fidel A. Sandoval; a son Raymond Michael Sandoval; her parents; and three brothers Luis, Ambrosio and Jerry Garcia. She was a loving mother, sister and grandmother. Survivors include a daughter Viola Marez and husband Frank of Moriarty, NM; two sons Norbert Sandoval and wife Anita of Los Lunas; Larry Sandoval and wife Lorraine of Encino, NM. Magdalena was very fond of her grandchildren, Carolee Graham, Curtis Sandoval, Anna Marie Chavez, April Sandoval, Christell Marez, Sylvia Aultman and Cynthia Sandoval, great-grandchildren Kevin Ray Perea, Darren Sandoval, Reyes Chavez, Cristofer Graham, Amaris Aultman, Ava Sandoval, Joshua Graham, Aneesa & Sorriah Chavez and Jordan Aultman. Also surviving are five brothers and eight sisters. Rosary services for Magdalena will be held at 7:00 PM Monday, May 19, 2008 from Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Encino, NM. Funeral Mass will be celebrated from the church at 11:00 AM Tuesday, May 20, 2008 with Father Steven Sanchez officiating. Burial will follow at Encino Catholic Cemetery. Her grandchildren will serve as pallbearers and her great-grandchildren will serve as honorary bearers.
