Anastacio Sena, 80 of Fort Sumner, NM died Friday, September 14, 2007 at Plains Regional Medical Center in Clovis, NM following an illness. Mr. Sena was born June 28, 1927 at Alamogordo, NM in northern De Baca County to the home of Alfredo and Crusita (Aragon) Sena. Anastacio married Antonia Saiz on November 27, 1946 in Fort Sumner. He worked as a heavy equipment operator for K Barnett Construction for many years. Mr. Sena was a member of St. Anthony Catholic Church in Fort Sumner. He enjoyed gardening, and helping his sons care for their livestock. He was preceded in death by an infant son Mario Sena in 1948; his parents; a granddaughter Cindy Sena in 2001; two sisters Theresa Gauna and Nora Murphy; and a brother Alfredo Sena. Anastacio was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend. He is survived by his wife Antonia Sena of the home in Fort Sumner; six sons George (Martha) Sena of Fort Sumner; Rev. Father Sotero A. Sena; Jerry Sena both of Clovis, NM; Anastacio (Theresa) Sena Jr. of Fort Sumner; David (Mary) Sena of Albuquerque; and Carlos Sena of Fort Sumner; two daughters Marcy (Joe) Garcia of Clovis, NM; and Barbara (Gary) Pacheco of Alamogordo, NM. Also surviving are two brothers Leonedes Sena of Clovis, NM and Gene Sena of Lake Sumner, NM; three sisters Andrea Caballero of Clovis, Virginia Meeks of Portales and Esperanza Barela of Fort Sumner along with 13 grandchildren, 22 Great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandchild and many other relatives and friends. Rosary services will be held at 7:00 PM Sunday, September 16, 2007 from St. Anthony Catholic Church in Fort Sumner, NM. Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated from the church at 10:00 AM Monday, September 17, 2007 with Father Sotero A. Sena officiating. Burial will follow at Fort Sumner Cemetery. Pallbearers will include Matthew Sena, Daniel Sena, Carlos Sena, Jeremy Sena, Nathan Pacheco, David Sena, Mario Sena, Michael Marez, Jacob Marez, Michael Villa and Joshua Sena. Honorary bearers will be all his grandchildren. Visitation will be Saturday and Sunday from 1PM to 6PM at the funeral home. Arrangements are under the direction of Chavez Funeral Home, 804 N.
