Bertha Joan (Hernandez) Richardson, age 50 passed away peacefully on June 23, 2004 in Seattle, WA. surrounded by her loving and caring family. She was born December 21, 1953 in Fort Sumner, NM, and raised in San Mateo, CA. Bertha graduated from Hillsdale High School in San Mateo, CA in 1972. She attended college for a short while. She enjoyed music and dancing. At age five she was dancing ballet and tap, and had the opportunity to perform in local theatre plays. She liked to work with arts and crafts. She was also an excellent cook. Besides all other things she loved, she had great admiration and love for animals. She is survived by her husband John Richardson from Leeds, England, a son Donald Dill, a daughter Crystal Dill all of Seattle, WA, her parents Carlos and Pauline Hernandez of Fort Sumner, NM, a brother, Paul Hernandez and wife Debbie from Redwood City, CA, two sisters, Diana Rogers and Patty Hernandez from San Jose, CA, nephews Michael and Marc Rogers, Stephen and David Hernandez and niece Nichole Hernandez, aunts, Lupe Sena from Fort Sumner, Mary Lynott and husband Frank from Clearlake, CA, Laura Vasquez from Redwood City, Ca; uncles, Sotero Hernandez and wife Cora from Roswell, NM, Robert Hernandez and wife Maria of San Diego, CA, McGuinn Sandoval and wife Annie from Roswell, NM, and many other loving family members and friends. Before her passing, her parents, sisters, children and friends spent many days at her side and had an opportunity to communicate all of their private final thoughts to each other. A Memorial Mass and Celebration of her life was held at the Church of the Nativity in Menlo Park, CA, July17, 2004 where family and friends gathered. A rosary will be prayed at 7:00 p.m. on Friday, July 30, 2004 from Saint Anthony Catholic Church in Fort Sumner, New Mexico. A memorial Mass will be held at the church at 10:00 a.m.; Saturday, July 31, 2004 with Fr. Richard Olona, celebrant of the Mass.
