Viera Ann Clark, 85 passed away quietly on Friday, October 4, 2002 at the Vitas Hospice Unit in All Saints Hospital in Fort Worth, TX. She lived with her daughter, Colleen Mitchell, who considered her a gift from God every day she spent with her and her family. Vi Clark was born February 25, 1917 at West, NM to the home of Edwin and Eva Lobley. She was the second of nine children raised on a farm in the Fort Sumner valley. Vi Clark was a member of Airport Freeway Church of Christ in Euless, TX and previously, a member of South Main Church of Christ in Roswell, NM for over fifty years. She was preceded in death by her husband of fifty years, Calvin W. Clark, a son Steve Clark, a daughter Barbara Clark, a great-grand daughter, Jesi Hare, a brother, Howard Lobley, and her parents Edwin and Eva Lobley. Vi was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She had a beautiful gentle spirit with a boundless capacity for unconditional love and a deep amazing faith that was evident by all who knew her. She will be deeply missed. Survivors include her daughter Colleeen Mitchell of Euless, TX, a son Don Clark of Wolforth, TX; two sisters Lola Patterson of Roswell, NM, Jean Puckett of Moriarty, NM, five brothers Harold Lobley, Stanley Lobley, Larry Lobley all of Wichita Falls, TX, Grady Lobley of Midland, TX, and Jerry Lobley of Texline, TX. Also surviving are nine grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren, and one Great-great-grandson along with a host of other relatives and friends who all take comfort in knowing she is now peacefully resting in God’s loving arms. Services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Tuesday, October 8, 2002. from the Fort Sumner Church of Christ. Burial will follow at the Fort Sumner Cemetery.
