Vicente J. Marquez

Vicente J. Marquez, age 76, passed away unexpectedly at his home on November 11, 2002. Vicente was born January 3, 1926 in Pintada, NM to the home of Ertenio and Ofelia Saiz Marquez. He was a longtime cattle and sheep rancher at Toribio Ranch. Vicente loved spending his time fishing and volunteered his time with the Campos Senior Citizens Center for many years. He was honored by Mayor Joseph Campos for his outstanding and dedicated volunteer service that he contributed to the Campos Senior Citizens. Vicente is peceeded in death by his parents, his brothers Artenio Marquez, Jose Marquez, Eutemio Marquez and Frank Marquez. Survivors include his brother Manuel Marquez of Puerto De Luna and his sister Alice Marquez of California, numerous nieces, nephews, and his countless friends at the Campos Senior Citizens Center. Rosary services were conducted on Wednesday evening at 7:00 from St. Rose Church. Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated on Thursday morning at 10:00 also from St. Rose Church with Father Stephen Schultz officiating. Burial followed at St. Joseph Cemetery. All services were entrusted to the Chavez Funeral Home of Santa Rosa.
