Aaron Nelson

Aaron Albert Nelson, age 22, passed away August 15, 2004 at his residence in Vaughn. Aaron was born February 1, 1982 in Las Vegas, NM to the home of Kenneth Ludi and Susan Nelson. He was reared in Santa Rosa and Las Vegas. Aaron was living in Vaughn at the time of his death and was employed with the Vaughn Schools. He loved hunting and fishing and riding on his motorcycle. He was currently serving on the Vaughn Volunteer Fire Department and held the rank of Captain. He is preceded in death by his maternal grandmother Carmen Velasquez. Survivors include his wife Shellia of the family home in Vaughn, his two sons who he adored Aaron and Matthew Nelson also of Vaughn, his mother Susan Nelson, his father Kenneth Ludi also of Las Vegas, his grandparents Albert and Diane Chavez of Santa Rosa, his brother Ricky Nelson his Great-grandmother Maggie Chavez of Santa Rosa and a special cousin Adina Chavez along with numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of relatives and friends. Rosary services will be conducted on Tuesday evening at 7:00 from St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church in Santa Rosa, a second rosary will be conducted on Wednesday evening at 7:00 from St. Mary's Catholic Church in Vaughn, NM. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, August 19, at 11:00 AM from St. Mary's Church with Father Hoi Tran officiating. Burial will follow at the Evergreen Cemetery in Vaughn. Serving as Pallbearers will be Joaquin Lucero, Andres Aguilar, Santiago Chavez, Ramon Tapia, Rubel Rael and Larry Chavez. Serving as Honorary Pallbearers will be the members of the Vaughn Volunteer Fire Department. All services are entrusted to the Chavez Funeral Home of Santa Rosa.
