Alice Ann (Gonzales) Keever, 74 of Fort Sumner, NM died Monday, March 15, 2004 at Lovelace Medical Center in Albuquerque, NM following an illness. Alice was born May 21, 1929 in Hooker, Oklahoma to the home of Elias Gonzales and the former Petra Valdez. Her family moved to Los Ojitos, north of Fort Sumner when she was a child. She attended school at Fort Sumner. Alice was a homemaker, a loving mother and grandmother. She enjoyed preparing the holiday meals and the family gatherings in her home. Alice loved to fish and enjoyed crocheting, and embroidering. Alice was a member of The Church On the Hill in Fort Sumner since 1978. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Art Keever, three brothers Brijido Gonzales, Johnny Gonzales, and Elias Gonzales Jr. Survivors include four daughters Donna Morgan and husband Charles of Vaughn, NM; Miquela Jones and husband Roger of Fort Sumner; Mary Montano and husband Kenneth of Vaughn, NM; Georgia Keever and David Vansickel of Fort Sumner; six sons Jose Aragon of Phoenix, AZ; Richard Aragon of Santa Rosa, NM; Nick Aragon of Albuquerque, NM; Bobby Aragon and wife Ramona of Las Vegas, NM; Jimmy Aragon and wife Sue of Amarillo, TX; and J.B. Aragon and wife Marie of Fort Sumner, NM. Also surviving are 23 grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren, 2 great-great-grandchildren; three sisters Mary Parker of Amarillo, TX; Rose Hunter of Amarillo, TX; Cecilia Luttrall of Amarillo, TX; two brothers Paul Gonzales and Benjamin Gonzales of Fort Sumner, NM. Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 A.M. Friday, March 19, 2004 from The Church On The Hill with Anna Teeter and Charles Morgan officiating. Serving as Pallbearers will be her grandchildren.
