Cleo Aragon, 84 of Roswell, New Mexico died Friday, January 21, 2000 at Eastern New Mexico Medical Center following an illness. She was born September 22, 1915 in Fort Sumner to the home of Anastacio Trujillo and the former Ofilia Beaubien. She was reared and attended school at Fort Sumner. She married Miguel Aragon on January 20, 1933 in Fort Sumner. While living in Fort Sumner she worked for several years at Teeters Department Store. She and her husband worked as ranch hands for the Hy Overton Ranch for several years. She made her home in Roswell in 1966 where she worked as a housekeeper at St. Mary’s Hospital for many years. She was a longtime member of St. John’s Catholic Church in Roswell. She was a loving mother, sister, and grandmother who enjoyed sewing and crocheting. She was a good cook and enjoyed keeping busy in her home. She was preceded in death by her husband Miguel Aragon in 1984; and two brothers Juan and Leo Trujillo. Survivors include a daughter Rose Sena and husband Teodoro of Clovis, NM; a son Pat and wife Lucy Aragon of Roswell; a brother Lenor Trujillo of Fort Sumner, two sisters Mary Trujillo and Antonia Tomasek both of Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Also surviving are eight grandchildren, 22 Great-grandchildren, and 24 Great-great-grandchildren. Visitation hours will be Sunday from 1pm to 5pm and Monday from 10am to 1pm at Chavez Funeral Home. Rosary services will be held at 6:00 P.M. Sunday, January 23, 2000 from St. Anthony Catholic Church in Fort Sumner. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated from the church at 2:00 P.M. Monday, January 24, 2000 with Father Sotero Sena, Celebrant of the Mass. Burial will follow at St. Anthony Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Mark Aragon, Theo Sena, Michael Sena, Matthew Garza, Alan Page, and Demetrio Gonzales. Arrangements entrusted to Chavez Funeral Home in Fort Sumner.
