Rita L. Salas

Guadalupe L. "Rita" Salas, passed away peacefully at her home on October 22, 2002 following an illness. Rita was born December 10, 1948 in Santa Rosa to the home of Estanislado and Vicenta Austin Salas. Rita was a special sister and aunt who enjoyed spending time with her family especialy with her nieces and nephews which she held a special place in her heart for them and would always greet them with her special smile. Rita was a loving sister, aunt and friend and will truly be missed. She was preceded in death by her father Estanislado Salas in 1993, her mother Vicenta Salas in 1983, her brothers Eddie Salas in 1968 and Tommy Salas in 1993, Larry Salas and a sister Priscilla Salas. Survivors include her sister Isabel Lopez and husband Joe of Santa Rosa, her brothers Marcos Salas and wife Teresa of Santa Rosa, Randy W. Salas of Albuquerque, Gary I. Salas and wife Donna of Santa Rosa and Dickie Salas of Santa Rosa, her special nieces Judy Lopez, Debra Lopez and Barbara Lopez all of Santa Rosa, her aunts Ramona Ulibarri and Anita Lopez of Santa Rosa and numerous nieces nephews, cousins and a host of friends and relatives. Rosary services were held on Wednesday evening at 7:00 from St. Rose of Lima Church. Mass of Christian Burial was held on Thursday morning at 10:00 AM with Father Stephen Schultz officiating. Cremation will follow the mass and Interment of Cremains will be held on Friday afternoon at 4:00 in the family plot at St. Joseph Cemetery. Serving as Pallbearers were Delano Chavez, Adam Salas, Mark Salas, Eddie Salas, Vicente Chavez, Jacob Salas, Gary Salas II, and Tomas Campos. Serving as Honorary Pallbearers were Sonny Austin, Jose Lopez and Tommy Campos. All services were entrusted the the Chavez Funeral Home of Santa Rosa. www.chavezfuneralhome.com
