Rick Romo, age 41, passed away April 17, 2008 at University Medical Center in Lubbock, TX following an illness. Rick was born March 28, 1967 in Santa Rosa. He attended Santa Rosa Consolidated Schools where he was an all around athlete and excelled in all sports. He graduated from Santa Rosa High School in 1985. Rick worked for the Corp of Engineers in Santa Rosa and Cochiti Lake. He also worked at Sam's Club in the Optometry Department before moving back to Santa Rosa. While living in Santa Rosa he took care of his mother, something that he took much pride in doing. Rick is preceded in death by his brother; Ramon Romo; his grandmother Silverina Romo. Survivors include his mother Virginia Romo of the family home in Santa Rosa, four brothers Margarito Romo of Albuquerque, Bruno Romo of Sedillo Hill, NM, Sam Romo and wife Lydia of Albuquerque, Gerald Romo and wife Sylvia of Albuquerque; two sisters Jeannie Madril and husband Joaquin and Christina Romo all of Clovis. Rick is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and a host of relatives and friends. Rosary services were held on Sunday, April 20, at 6:00 PM from St. Rose of Lima Church. Communion Services will be held on Monday, April 21, at 10:00 also from St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church in Santa Rosa with Deacon Marvin Marquez officiating. Burial will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery. Serving as Pallbearers will be his nephews; Anthony Romo, Andres Romo, Christopher Romo, Keith Romo, Donavan Romo and Gerald Romo, Jr. Honorary Pallbearers will be the rest of his nephews; Pablo Madril, Randy Madril, Gabriel Madril, Mark Montano and Troy Romo.
