Celestino "Tano" Gauna, age 68, passed away August 25, 2004 at his brothers residence in Vaughn following an illness. Tano was born August 1, 1936 in Fort Sumner, NM to the home of Rosurao and Inez Martinez Gauna. He was reared in Vaughn where he worked for various restaurants as a cook. Tano was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church and the Senior Citiznes. He enjoyed playing pool and bingo. He is preceded in death by his parents. Survivors include his brothers and sisters Valeria Gonzales and husband Erminio of Vaughn, Tony Gauna of Albuquerque, Rosie Marino of Albuquerque, Charlie Gauna and wife Ramona of Albuquerque, Lucio Gauna and wife Connie of Albuquerque, Carmen Hart and husband Clyde of Edmond, OK and Joe Gauna and wife Louella of Vaughn. Also surviving are numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of friends and relatives. Rosary services will be held on Friday evening, August 27, at 7:00 from St. Mary's Church in Vaughn. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebreated on Saturday, August 28, at 10:30 AM also from St. Mary's Church with Father Patrick Duffy officiating. Burial will follow at the Evergreen Cemetery in Vaughn. Serving as Pallbearers will be Tomas Gonzales, Delano Marino, Denise Gauna, Stacy Self, Ike Gauna and Gerald Gauna. All services are entrusted to the Chavez Funeral Home of Santa Rosa.
