Antonia A. Lopez, age 57, passed away November 25, 2002 at the Northeastern Regional Hospital in Las Vegas. Antonia was born June 14, 1945 in Newkirk, NM to the home of Santos and Mela Valencia Lopez. She was reared and attended schools in Santa Rosa. Antonia married Sam Lopez July 7, 1962 in Santa Rosa, NM. She was a member of St. Rose of Lima Parish, she enjoyed doing arts and crafts and reading. Antonia was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and sister and will truly be missed. Antonia is preceded in death by her parents, her brother Ray Lopez, maternal grandparents Mr. and Mrs. Mateo Valencia, paternal grandparents Mr.and Mrs. Miguel Lopez. Survivors include her husband Sam of the family home in Santa Rosa, her children Rose Garcia and husband Macky of Eunice, Joseph Matthew Lopez and Samantha Lopez both of Santa Rosa and her only grandson Isaiah Lopez of Santa Rosa. Also surviving are her sisters Sally Austin and husband Joe of Bernalillo, Ramona Salazar and husband David of Santa Rosa, Bertha Hing and husband Harold of Santa Rosa, her sister in laws Frances Lopez of Santa Rosa, Lorraine Pacheco, Rita Baca and Celia Martinez all of Fort Sumner, Della Garcia of Lubbock, TX, Lucy Gonzalez and husband Cornelio of Albuqueruqe, Lydia Moreno and husband Rudy of Lubbock, her brother in laws Joe Lopez and wife Rita of Belen, Boni Lopez of Albuquerque and Fred Lopez and wife Sara of Rio Rancho. Also surviving are her aunts and uncles, Florence Lopez, Aurora Elevario, Lola Chacon, Lorenzo Sena, Joe D. Lopez and wife Isabel, Benigno Lopez, China Madrid all of Santa Rosa, Dorothy Zamora of Albuquerque, Gloria Lopez and Alfredo Gonzales both of Tucumcari, and Caludina Valencia of Las Vegas, NM and numerous nieces, nephews and a host of relatives and friends. Rosary services were held on Wednesday evening at 7:00 from the Chavez Funeral Home Chapel. A second rosary will be recited on Thursday evening also at 7:00 from St. Rose Church. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday at 12:00 PM also from St. Rose Church with Father Sotero A. Sena Officiating. Burial will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery. Serving as Pallbearers will be Fred Lopez, Joaquin Garza, Shawn Lopez, Fabian Lopez, Joey Austin, Raul Lopez, Randy Martinez, Lemmy Hing, David Salazar and Davian Salazar.
