Timoteo M. Lopez 90, of Clovis, NM died Thursday, December 5, 2002 at Plains Regional Medical Center in Clovis, NM following an illness. Mr. Lopez was born May 29, 1912. He worked as a laborer for the Santa Fe Railroad, and at Sam Sanders Gravel Pit in Fort Sumner.He worked as a ranchhand for the Sam Steel Ranch and the Overton Ranch for many years. Timoteo was a member of Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Community in Clovis. He enjoyed taking walks, and watching TV. He was preceded in death by his wife Pola Lopez, and a son David Lopez in 1979. Survivors include thirteen children; eight sons Sammy Lopez of Clovis; Henry Lopez of Albuquerque; Ignacio Lopez of Moriarty; Selestino Lopez of Clovis; Navor Lopez of Tampa Bay, Florida; Raymond Lopez, Jimmy Lopez, and Larry Lopez of Clovis; and Anthony Lopez of Albuquerque; five daughters Rosalie Garcia of Hobbs, NM; Gloria Garcia of Houston, TX; Frances Lopez, Peggy Garcia of Clovis, NM; and Debbie Turner of Albuquerque. Also surviving is a sister Encarnacion Madrid of Santa Rosa, many grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and other relatives. Rosary services were held at 7:00 P.M. Monday, December 9, 2002 from the Chavez Funeral Home in Santa Rosa. The rosary was led by his granddaughter Noelle Garcia. Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated from St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church at 1:00 P.M. Tuesday, December 10, 2002 with Father Stephen Schultz, celebrant of the mass. Burial followed at Nuestra Senora Del Refugio Cemetery in Puerto De Luna, New Mexico. Pallbearers were grandsons Henry Lopez, Jr., Greg Lopez, Beto Lopez, Sammy Lopez Jr., Joe Mike Garcia Jr., and Anthony Lopez.
