Alberto B. Martinez, age 49, passed away suddenly on December 9, in Las Vegas, NM. Alberto was born July 19, 1953 in Santa Rosa to the home of Jose Efren and Albina Madrid Martinez. He was reared and attended schools is Santa Rosa graduating from Santa Rosa High School in 1971. Alberto worked as a restaurant manager for Truckstops of America for many years. He was presently working at Wal-Mart in Las Vegas. He served in the United States Army from 1971 until 1974 as a Electrical Equipment Repair Specialist. He is preceded in death by his father Jose Efren Martinez in 1990. Survivors include his mother Albina Martinez, his daughters Tanya and Deana, 8 brothers Roman, Ely, Jose F. Jr., Johnny, Rudy, Jimmy, Herman and Ted. Two Sisters Emma Romero and Rose Galvan, his longtime companion Anna and his best friend Richard Blea. Alberto was a loving son, father and brother and will truly be missed. Rosary services were conducted on Thursday at 5:00 PM from St. Rose of Lima Church. Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated on Friday, December 13, 2002 at 10:00 AM also from St. Rose Church with Father Stephen Schultz officiating. Burial followed at St. Joseph Cemetery. Serving as Pallbearers were his nephews, Art Martinez, Fred Martinez, Andrew Madrid, Adam Madrid, Mark Martinez, T.J. Martinez, Wayne Martinez, Ricardo Martinez, Arthur Galvan, Greg Galvan, Manuel Galvan, Johnny Joe Martinez, and Abel Martinez. Honorary Pallbearer was Richard Blea. All services are entrusted to the Chavez Funeral Home of Santa Rosa.
