Edna Maxine Burnett, 88 of Omak, Washington and a former resident of Fort Sumner, NM died April 10, 2005 at her home in Omak, Washington. Edna was born in Port Townsend, WA on February 25, 1917, to Frank and Marion (Halverson) Beck. In her early years she lived in Port Townsend, Squim, and the surrounding area. Edna married Oren Burnett on February 10, 1946 in Bremerton, WA. They made their home in Sweet Home, and Rosenburg, Oregon. Together they operated a motel and a private resort at Sequim Bay Point, WA for several years. Edna was a longtime member of Faith Lutheran Church in Rosenburg, OR. Edna and Oren made their home in Fort Sumner in 1995 and 1996. Following Oren’s death on February 28, 1996, Edna moved back to Omak, WA. She is survived by a daughter Maxine Smith of Clackamas, Oregon and a son Garland Burnett of Edgewood, NM; one sister Ana Jane Hanson and a brother Herb Beck both of Quilcene, WA and many grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and friends that will be missing her. Graveside services and interment will be held at 1:30 p.m. Monday, May 2, 2005 from the Santa Fe National Cemetery, Santa Fe, New Mexico.
