Mrs. Lorna Lund, 95 passed away Friday, December 29, 2017 in Longmont, Colorado. She was born April 13, 1922 in Caprock, NM to the home of Edward H and Mary D. (Conner) Chick. She was reared in LaLande, NM and attended and graduated from Fort Sumner High School. Following graduation she attended Eastern New Mexico University. Lorna married Ralph Lund on January 12, 1946 in Albuquerque, NM. They made their home in Fort Sumner for many years. Lorna was a longtime member of First United Methodist Church, the Fort Sumner Women's Club, Needle Point Club, and two bridge clubs. She enjoyed bowling, needlepoint, golf, and many afternoon gatherings and activities with her Ya Yas. Lorna is preceded in death by her parents, her husband Ralph Lund on October 28, 2007, two sisters, her twin Mary Lea Robinson and Marjorie Harris, and a great grandson Leo Christian Koontz on April 30, 2017. Survivors include two daughters, Marilee Koontz and husband Jim of Corrales, NM, Linda Manchester and husband Richard of Boulder, CO, four grandsons Clay Koontz and wife Lisa of Albuquerque, Justin Koontz and wife Taylor of Lubbock, TX, Rex Manchester, and Aldy Manchester of Boulder, CO, great-grandchildren Kaden Koontz, Kash Koontz, and Khloe Koontz all of Lubbock, along with other relatives, many friends, and her church family. Services will be held at 10am Friday, January 12, 2018 at First United Methodist Church in Fort Sumner with her nephew Levi Robinson officiating, assisted by Pastor Marvin Pounds. Interment will be in the family plot, Fort Sumner Cemetery. The family requests memorial contributions to the First United Methodist Church, P.O.
