Anona "Pat" Gonzales

Pat Gonzales, 77 of Santa Rosa, NM passed away at her home on Sunday, September 10, 2017 following an illness. A rosary will be recited at 6pm Tuesday, September 12, 2017 at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church. Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated from the church at 10am Wednesday, September 13, 2017 with Father Christopher Bernabe officiating. Burial will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery. Pallbearers will be grandchildren, J.R. Urban, Alan Sisneros, John Zamora, Ernie Gonzales III, Alexandria Romo, Brandon Gallegos, and Mario Trujillo Jr. Honorary bearers will be all her grand and great-grandchildren. Visitation hours will be Tuesday, September 12, 2017 from 1pm to 5pm at the funeral home. Anona "Pat" Gonzales, was born in Coleman, Texas on June 26, 1940. She grew up in Coleman, and Dimmitt, Texas. She moved to Texline, TX where she attended high school and graduated as valedictorian of her class. Pat married Ernest F. Gonzales on November 3, 1957. They made their home in Santa Rosa in 1971. Pat worked as assistant general manager at Santa Rosa Holiday Inn for over 20 years, she later drove for Safe Ride for 10 years. Pat was a member of St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church, she enjoyed working with ceramics, reading, and especially spending time with her family and friends. She also enjoyed visiting the casinos as often as possible. Pat is preceded in death by her mother Okanee Hale Scott, a son Nicholas Scott Gonzales in 1990, a brother Bill Bowman, mother and father in law Nick and Pauline Gonzales, in laws Casimiro Gonzales, Tony and Isidora Armijo, Manuel Gonzales, and Nick Gonzales. Survivors include Ernest F. Gonzales, her husband of 59 years, two daughters Tammy Gonzales and Michelle Sisneros of Santa Rosa, two sons Ernest Gonzales and wife Sharon of Los Lunas, NM, and Billy John Gonzales and wife Annette of Logan, NM, step-father Winfield Scott of Clayton, NM, a brother John Milton McIntire of Brownwood, Texas, sister in law Jane Bowman of Ohio, and cousins Frankie Swift, Jerry Lou, and Osie Mitchell, along with 23 grandchildren Sharla and Mario Trujillo, J.R. and Noel Urban, Max IV and Jessica Sisneros, Alan and Shonie Sisneros, Josh Sisneros, Natanya Sisneros and Cory, Kaitlyn Sisneros, Ernie III and Lorena Gonzales, Larry and Desiree Gallegos, Isabella Gonzales and Casandra Gonzales, Gabriel, Desarae, Michael, Jeremy, John and Theresa Zamora, Richard Scott Goke, Vane and Danielle Reeves, Agelica and Clay Rodgers, Jerrica Gonzales, Jessica Gonzales, Matthew and Bobby Dimas, Alexandria and Angelo Romo, 39 great-grandchildren Aislyn, Mario Jr., Tristin, and Jason Trujillo, Josh, Breanna, Isaiah, Jalyn Urban, Max V, Payton, and Cinco Sisneros, Amariah, Brandon, Alysa, Aislynn, Gallegos, April, Ernie IV, Jacob, Scotty Gonzales, Anizza, M.J., Angel, Zadie, and Icis Gonzales, Derek, Nathan, Jasmine, Esmee Gonzales, Roman Dallas Reeves, Filimon, Joe, Anthony, Maria, and Damien Dimas, Isabella, Adessa, and Joaquin Romo, one great-great grandchild, Eric Gallegos, along with a host of family and friends.
