Melba Jo (Naylor) Ingram, 92 of Fort Sumner, NM passed away Tuesday, April 18, 2017 at Retirement Ranch in Clovis, NM. She was born April 23, 1924 in Yeso, NM to the home of Adren and Lizzie Mae (Stradley) Naylor. She grew up in Yeso and and graduated from Yeso High School in 1942. Following graduation she began working for Mountain States Telephone in Fort Sumner, Portales, Taos, NM Altus, Oklahoma, and Tucson, Arizona. While living in Tucson she met and married William M. Ingram in 1959. Following William's death in 1964, Melba moved her family to Fort Sumner. She began working as Executive Director of the Fort Sumner Housing Authority in 1969 until her retirement on October 7, 1994. She was a member of Rebekah's in Fort Sumner. Melba Jo enjoyed reading mystery books, and working in her flower garden. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband William M. Ingram On October 25, 1964, a son Don Greg Ingram on September 17, 2013, four siblings Floyd Buster Naylor, James Nathan Naylor, Virginia Nance, and Billy Jean Naylor. Melba Jo is survived by a son Justin Ingram of Fort Sumner, a daughter in law Sandra Ingram (wife of +Don Greg Ingram) of Fort Sumner, a grandson Justin Cristi of Wyoming, and seven nieces and nephews. A graveside service will be held at 2pm Monday, April 24, 2017 at Yeso Cemetery, with Anna Teeter Gentile officiating. Pallbearers will be Justin Ingram, Tim Sweet, Lee Foster, Bobby Foster, Manuel Lucero, and Chris Steele. Honorary bearers will be James A. Nance and Phillip Nance.
