Joe C. Gonzales, age 63, passed away unexpectedly on March 21, at the University Of New Mexico Hospital in Albuquerque. Joe was born on October 15, 1953 in Eagle Pass, TX to the home of Carlos and Lydia (Coronado) Gonzales. He was reared and attended schools in Eagle Pass and Stephenville, TX. Joe married Della Chavez in 1993 in Santa Rosa. He worked as Police Officer for the City of Santa Rosa and the County of Guadalupe. Joe enjoyed watching movies, fishing, camping and spending time with his grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents, his brothers Gilbert Gonzales and Tony Gonzales. Survivors include his wife Della of the family home in Santa Rosa, his children; Joe Gonzales and wife Jennifer of Clovis, Tommie Salinas and Justin Rodgers of Santa Rosa and Sean Salinas of Santa Rosa, his grandchildren; Xavier Gonzales, Jade Gonzales, Marcus Palma, Kambree Rodgers, Reina Salinas, Cruz Salinas, Alexis Rodgers and Zaylin Rodgers. Also surviving are his brothers and sisters; Robert Gonzales of Dublin, TX, Sylvia Mares of Stephenville, TX and Carlos Gonzales of Plainview, TX, his brothers and sisters in law; Dickie Chavez, Grace Warfield, Alvarita Smith, Rosa and Raymond Lucero, Marcella Chavez, Luciano Chavez, Danny Chavez and Kathy and Gabriel Palomarez along with numerous nieces, nephews and a host of relatives and friends. Cremation has taken place and Memorial Services will be held on Saturday, March 25, at 10:00 AM from the Blue Hole Convention Center with Pastor Larry Sandoval officiating. Burial will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery. All services for Joe have been entrusted to the Chavez Funeral Home of Santa Rosa.
