Clora Mae Hamon, 78 of Fort Sumner, NM passed away Monday, January 16, 2017 at St. Anthony Healthcare and Rehabilitation in Clovis following an illness. She was born December 8, 1938 in Chase, Louisiana the daughter of Bennie and Katie Katherine (Lilly) Williams. She worked in California factories that processed vegetables, chicken, and cereal for many years. Clora married James H. Hamon on November 3, 1986 in Las Vegas, Nevada. They made their home in Fort Sumner. Clora enjoyed Bingo, watching western movies, and going for walks. She is preceded in death by her parents, two sons Gary Wayne Williams and Tommy Rawles, three brothers Bennie Williams Jr., Jimmy Williams, and James Williams, two sisters Ethel Cranfield and Essie Biggs. Survivors include her husband Jim Hamon of the home in Fort Sumner, four sisters Mary Ann Day, Flora Gimbellot, Evon Katherine Johnson, and Mallisse Day, three brothers Frank Williams, Bill Williams, and Richard Williams all of Louisiana, one surviving aunt Emma O'Quin of Texas and a favorite nephew Marvin Jones of Louisiana. Cremation has taken place and a Memorial Service is being held at 11:00 am Thursday, January 26, 2017 at the Fort Sumner Church of Christ with Pastor Silas Shotwell officiating.
