Lisa Sandra Ara, age 56, passed away peacefully on January 11th, 2017, in Albuquerque, New Mexico. She was born on October 28th, 1960, in New York City, to the late, great, Ralph Daunicht and Lucia DiMare Daunicht. Lisa grew up with her family in Upstate, New York, and later resided in San Francisco, Tustin, California, Taos, and Albuquerque, New Mexico. Lisa always nurtured a love of the arts and culture, especially high fashion and couture. She was an artist, model, and licensed cosmetologist with an eye for what was beautiful and unexpected. Lisa loved to travel, and she particularly enjoyed cosmopolitan cities, where she enjoyed feasting on the art, culture, fashions and cuisines of the world. Lisa was preceded in death by her husband John Angel Ara, parents Ralph and Lucia Daunicht, brother Ralph, and her beloved dogs Dottie, Bam, Blackie, and Luna. Lisa is survived by, and will be deeply missed by, her daughter Lucia Carmen Ara and her fiancé Nicholas Condon of Albuquerque New Mexico, her brother Anthony Daunicht and his sons Anthony-Ralph and Nicholas, sister Regena Daunicht and her son Derek, all of Upstate New York, sisters-in-law Dolores Heaton of Taos New Mexico, and Yolanda Ara of Round Rock, Texas, along with numerous nieces, nephews, and friends. Graveside services will be held January 16th at 12:00 PM, at Evergreen Cemetery in Vaughn, New Mexico. Should friends desire, contributions in Lisa’s memory may be made to the ASPCA Serving as Pallbearers will be Nicholas Condon, Robin Driver, Lucia Ara, Angela Walters, Mico Gutierrez and Robert Jordon. Serving as Honorary Pallbearers will be Anthony Daunicht, Anthony-Ralph Daunicht, Nicholas Daunicht and Derek Beaston.
