Jose A Lopez

Jose A. Lopez, 89, of Santa Rosa, NM was born on April 5, 1927 in Bess, NM passed and away on December 1, 2016 at the Guadalupe County Hospital. Jose served in the United States Army from 1953 through 1955. He worked for the State of California as an Adult Probation Officer for 20 years. After his retirement in 1992 he relocated to Reno, Nevada. He enjoyed reading history books, novels and going to the casinos. He is preceded in death by his parents Celestino and Margarita (Zamora) Lopez, four brothers Lorenzo Lopez, Juan Lopez, Celestino Lopez, and Frank Lopez, two sisters Emma Vigil and Eva Dodge. Jose is survived by a brother Clemente Lopez, his special nephew and caregivers John and Vivian Lopez along with numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Visitation will be held on Monday, December 5, 2016 at the Chavez Funeral Home from 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM. Rosary services will be held on Tuesday, December 6, 2016 beginning at 12:30 PM from the Chavez Funeral Home Chapel, in Santa Rosa, the funeral services will follow. Burial will follow at Nuestra Senora de Refugio Cemetery in Puerto De Luna. Serving as Pallbearers will be Bobby (Hogan) Lopez, Mike Chavez, Lorenzo Lopez, Jr., Arnold Campos, Armando Campos and Ernesto Pacheco.
