Mrs. Trinnie (Baca) Campos, age 94 of Santa Rosa, NM passed away Thursday, November 17, 2016 at Los Vecinos Assisted Living following an illness. Trinnie was born February 18, 1922 in Santa Rosa to the home of Francisco and Leandra (Ulibarri) Baca. She lived in Colonias, NM until age 10 when the family moved to Santa Rosa. She attended and graduated from Santa Rosa High School class of 1940. She attended a business school in Albuquerque for two years before returning to Santa Rosa. Trinnie married Pelagio Campos on May 2, 1946 in Santa Rosa. While he served in the armed forces, Trinnie worked for Moise Brothers Mercantile as a bookkeeper for three years. During this time she wrote a newsletter to all the servicemen from Guadalupe County keeping them informed about their families and local news. Trinnie later worked as a bookkeeper for First National Bank in Santa Rosa. Trinnie and Pelagio were longtime cattle ranchers near Borica, NM. She loved working on the ranch. Trinnie was a faithful member of St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church in Santa Rosa and attended Nuestra Senora de Refugio Catholic Church in Puerto De Luna. She was a member of the Sacred Heart Society, and St. Joseph Guild. She enjoyed gardening and always shared her vegetables with family and friends, sewing, and quilting, she made a special quilt for all her grandchildren. She had the honor of baking the Route 66 Best Dessert, her cherry dump cake. She loved her family and enjoyed all the time spent with her grandchildren, sisters, brothers, nieces and nephews. Trinnie is preceded in death by her husband Pelagio (CoCo) Campos on August 20, 2011, an infant daughter Dolores Campos, her parents, a granddaughter Mona Lisa Trujillo on January 7, 2014, son in law Joe D. Trujillo, three sisters Margaret Marquez, Celestina Casaus, and Sister Mary Magdelene Baca, and one brother Andy Baca. She is survived by a daughter Carmen Trujillo of Santa Rosa, five grandchildren Joseph Trujillo and wife Karen of Albuquerque, Dolores Trujillo of Albuquerque, Mario Trujillo and his wife Sharla of Santa Rosa, Camilla Hoehne and her husband Gerald of Albuquerque, and Ruben Trujillo of Albuquerque. Nine great grandchildren Aislyn, Mario Jr., Tristin, and Jason Trujillo, Raegan, Gavin, Matthew, Kaitlyn, and Savannah Hoehne, Matthew McPheeters, and Savanah Trujillo, one great-great-grandchild Aubrey Nava. Also surviving are her siblings, three sisters Maggie Gallegos of Santa Rosa, Polly Maes of Albuquerque, and Connie Chavez of Santa Rosa, four brothers Raymond Baca and his wife Marcella of Albuquerque, Frank Baca of Santa Rosa, Gilbert Baca and his wife Vicky of Albuquerque, and Boni Baca and his wife Sylvia of Albuquerque, two sisters in law Sister Marcella Campos of Boston, MA, and Delia Flores of Santa Fe, two brothers in law Orlando Campos and his wife Ann of Landover, MD, and Max Campos and his wife Eileen of Winchester, VA along with a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends. A rosary led by her niece, Kathy Baca will be recited from St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church in Santa Rosa at 10am Monday, November 21, 2016. The Mass of Christian Burial will follow the rosary with interment at St. Joseph Cemetery in Santa Rosa. Father Sotero A. Sena will officiate. Pallbearers are Dennis Gallegos, Peachie Chavez, Shawn Lopez, Pat Martinez, Adam Gallegos, Andrew Sanchez, Rudy Tenorio, and Tommy Campos. Honorary bearers are Alfredo Flores, Perla Serrano, Joann Gallegos, Kathy Baca, Netta Montgomery, Kika Baca, Frank Gerhardt, Tammy Gonzales, and the staff at Los Vecinos Assisted Living.
