Ludena A. Maestas, age 68, of Dilia, NM passed away suddenly on August 2, at the Guadalupe County Hospital in Santa Rosa. Ludena was born on October 17, 1947 in Cubero, NM to the home of Manuel and Gertrude (Armijo) Salazar. She was reared and attended schools in Cubero. Ludena married Jose Rumaldo Maestas on December 7, 1968 at the San Felipe Catholic Church in Albuquerque, Ludena owned and operated the Maestas Lounge in Dilia for many years. She enjoyed visiting with her patrons at the lounge, visiting with her family, watching TV, playing bingo and going to the casino. She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband Jose Rumaldo, brothers, Adam Salazar and Frankie Salazar, brothers in law, Leroy Maestas, Richard Maestas and Levi Maestas, sisters in law, Gail Lueras, Clara Williams, Lillie Perea and a great grandson Frankie Davis. Survivors include her children, Romie Maestas and wife Cassandra of Santa Rosa, Marvin Maestas and wife Marie of Tome, NM and Anthony Maestas and Rachel Cordova of Dilia, her grandchildren, Pamela Ann Roybal, Dominique Roybal, Felisha Gonzales, Carolina Maestas and Alejando Maestas, great grandchildren Gabriel Davis and Gage Davis, step grandchildren, Kenneth Rupert, Jessica Rupert, Nikki Rupert, Athena, Angelique, Robbie and Remi. Also surviving are her sisters, Debbie Molina of Grants, Dorothy Garcia and husband Rudy of Anton Chico, Naomi Rodarte and husband Joey of Cubero, Brothers and sisters in law, Alfredo Maestas and wife Kathy of Albuquerque, Juanito Maestas of Anton Chico, Marcella Aragon of Anton Chico, Christy Maestas of Albuquerque and Yolanda Maestas of South Dakota along with numerous nieces, nephews and a host of relatives and friends. A rosary will be recited at 10am Saturday, August 6, 2016 at San Jose Catholic Church in Anton Chico followed by the Mass of Christian Burial, Father Antonio Mondragon will officiate. Interment of cremains will follow at San Jose Cemetery in Anton Chico. All services for Mrs. Maestas have been entrusted to the Chavez Funeral Home of Santa Rosa.
