Rosary services for Corinne M. Chavez, age 76, will be held on Thursday, June 16, at 7:00 PM from St. Rose of Lima Church. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, June 17, at 10:00 AM also from St. Rose of Lima Church with Father Sotero A. Sena Officiating; burial will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery. Serving as Pallbearers will be Victor Padilla, Lalo Padilla, Leroy Campos, Carlos Romero, Fernie Chavez and Ernie Chavez. Serving as Honorary Pallbearers will be Corinne’s daughter in law and son in laws. Corinne passed away on June 12, 2016 at the Alta Vista Hospital in Las Vegas following an illness. She was born on May 13, 1940 in Santa Rosa to the home of Albert G. and Margarita (Olivas) Chavez. She was reared and attended schools in Santa Rosa. Corinne was a member of St. Rose of Lima Church where she sang in the choir for many years and was also a member of Las Hijas de Maria. Corinne enjoyed dancing, baking, gambling, fishing, quilting and going on vacation. She worked as a hairdresser, as an election clerk, a hostess at the Adobe Inn Restaurant and at the Vaughn Schools. She is preceded in death by her parents, her brother Albert Chavez, her sisters Ramona Padilla, Jesse Chavez and Connie Aragon, two infant sisters Dilia and Rosenda. Survivors include her companion Henry Sanchez of Santa Fe, her children, Arthur Marquez of Vaughn, Ernest Marquez and wife Stacy of Vaughn, Luana Romero of Santa Rosa, Yvette Henderson and husband Eric of Tallmadge, Ohio, Delbert Marquez of Santa Rosa, Creselda Diosdado and husband Ismael of Houston, TX, her grandchildren, Ethan Marquez, Zachary Marquez, Melissa Marquez, Stephanie Salazar, Jeremy Romero, Adriana Romero, Brant Henderson Jimmie Henderson, Daniel Gatewood, Miguel Gatewood, Andre Marquez, Daniel Diosdado and David Diosdado along with 15 great grandchildren. Also surviving are her sisters and brothers, Elizabeth Romero and husband Carlos of Santa Rosa, Annie Campos and husband Leroy of Santa Rosa, Margaret Padilla and husband Victor of Albuquerque, Fernando Chavez of Santa Rosa, Ernie Chavez and wife Rose of Albuquerque along with numerous nieces, nephews and a host of relatives and friends.
