Patrick Paul Madrid

Patrick Paul Madrid, 46 of Scottsdale, AZ and formerly of Vaughn, NM passed away unexpectedly May 21, 2016 in Scottsdale, AZ following a brief illness. He was born June 8, 1969 to the home of Paul and Luggie Madrid. He grew up in Vaughn where he attended school, graduating as valedictorian of Vaughn High School class of 1987. While in school he excelled in all sports. Patrick attended N.M.S.U. where he received his BS in Mechanical Engineering, he received his MBA in Global Management from the University of Phoenix where he graduated Magna Cum Laude. Patrick had a strong presence in the Aerospace Industry. Patrick made his home in Scottsdale, AZ in 1995 where he was employed as a Business Manager for Honeywell Corporation. Patrick married Christine Horne in April 1998 in Scottsdale, AZ. He will always be remembered for his brilliant mind, generous spirit and fun loving nature. He was a loyal Cardinal's fan and lover of sports. He enjoyed golfing, and dancing and music of all eras. He will be remembered for his ability to connect with people and especially children of all ages. Patrick is preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Paul and Florinda Madrid, maternal grandparents Antonio and Concha Sanchez, and cousins, Vincent Sanchez, Gary Dean Archibeque, and Rick Carver, an aunt Christine Carver and two uncles, Frank Madrid, and Nat Sanchez. A loving husband, father, son, brother, uncle, cousin and friend, Patrick will be greatly missed by his wife Christine Madrid, his daughters, Katelyn Madrid and Megan Madrid of Scottsdale, AZ, his parents Paul and Luggie Madrid of Vaughn, his in-laws, Peter and Pat Horne of Scottsdale, AZ, his sisters, Annette Madrid of San Francisco, CA and Renee Cashmore and husband Bourke of Flagstaff, AZ and their children Reilly, Claire, and Liam, his sister-in-law Jennifer Johnson and husband Matthew of Scottsdale, AZ and their children, Jacob and Madison, along with his extended family, friends, and colleagues. We will always carry our memories of him in our hearts. A memorial service was held in Scottsdale on June 11, 2016. A rosary and funeral Mass will be held at 10am Saturday, July 2, 2016 at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Vaughn, NM with Father Christopher Bernabe officiating. Honorary Pallbearers will be Abran Sandoval, Michael Sanchez, Joseph Sanchez, Jonathan Marquez, Justin Archibeque, Nat Sanchez, Martin Sanchez, and Liam Cashmore. Burial will follow at Evergreen Cemetery, Vaughn, New Mexico.
