Wanda (Harris) Wade

Wanda Lee (Harris) Wade, 83 of Clovis, NM passed away Tuesday, April 26, 2016 at Wheatfields Senior Living Community, Clovis, New Mexico. She was born June 5, 1932 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma to the home of Esther Curtis "Jack" Harris and the former Wilma Iola Gragg. She grew up in central Oklahoma before moving to Fort Sumner in 1944. She attended and graduated from Fort Sumner High School in 1950. She moved to Clovis where she worked for the NM Human Services Department for several years before moving to Albuquerque where she worked for the NM Wage and Hour Department. Wanda retired to Clovis in 1998. Wanda was raised in the Methodist Church, she enjoyed cross stitch, needlepoint, pottery, macrame, and spending time with her grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents Jack Harris and her mother Wilma Iola (Gragg) Parker. Two husbands Jack Wade in 1997 and Lendon Duncan in 1983. Survivors include one daughter Beverly Duncan of Clovis, two grandchildren, James White and wife Erica of Elgin, Texas, DeLynne Hickman of Bee Branch, Arkansas, seven great-grandchildren Hunter Bailey White, Skylar White, Hayden White, Holden White, Jacob White, James Hickman, and Jessica LeeLynne Hickman. Also surviving are two sisters-in-law Lula Sweet and husband Don of Fort Sumner and Eula Newton of Las Cruces, cousins Johna Beth Parmer and husband Billy of Tucumcari, and Katherine Edwards and husband Brown of Albuquerque. Visitation hours will be Friday from 10am to 1:30pm at Chavez Funeral Home. Graveside services will be held at 2pm Friday, April 29, 2016 at Fort Sumner Cemetery with Rev. John Russo officiating.
