Jose Luis “Louie” Baca, 66, passed away peacefully at his home on March 4, 2016 following an illness. Louie was born on September 5, 1949 in Tucumcari, NM to the home of Virginio and Conrada (Romero) Baca. He was reared and attended schools in Santa Rosa graduating in 1969. Immediately after graduation Louie served in U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict. Louie worked as an auto mechanic at the TruckStops of America for several years. He enjoyed cruising around town with his brother and visiting the casinos. He is preceded in death by his parents, his brother Isidro Baca, his sisters, Mary Jean Pendleton and Maria Rufina Baca and his grandson Francisco Baca, Jr. and his nephew Matthew Baca. Survivors include his sons, Phillip Andrew Baca of Roswell and Francisco Daniel Baca of Albuquerque, his grandchildren, Jessica, Kaitlin, Andrew, Elisa, Mireya and Veronica. Also surviving are his brothers and sisters, Florentino Baca of Amarillo, Benny Baca of Santa Rosa, Virginio Baca, Jr, of Santa Rosa, Maria Paniagua of Albuquerque and Virginia Romero and husband Jonathan of Santa Rosa along with numerous uncles, aunts, cousins and a host of friends. Rosary services will be held on Tuesday, March 8, at 10:00 AM from St. Rose of Lima Church. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated immediately following the Rosary with Father Sotero A. Sena officiating. Burial will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery. Serving as Pallbearers will be Victor Baca, Vicente Silva, Erminio Chavez, Santiago Romero, Nathan Romero, Horace Lopez, Carlos Campos and Lou Chavez.
