Frances Romero

Rosary services for Mrs. Frances Romero will be held on Monday, January 18, at 10:00 AM from St. Rose of Lima Church with Mass of Christian Burial to follow celebrated by Father Sotero A. Sena. Burial will follow at the St. Joseph Cemetery. Serving as Pallbearers for Frances will be her grandsons, Louie Romero, Jr., Evy Duran, Vincent Castillo, Jr., Jimmy Castillo, Andres Urban, Joseph Urban, Enrico Chavez and Eddie Garcia. Serving as Honorary Pallbearers will be the rest of her grandchildren. Frances passed away on Thursday, January 14, 2016 at the University of New Mexico Hospital following an illness. She was born on August 21, 1931 in Borica, NM to the home of Carlos and Inez (Garcia) Sena. She married Jose Santiago Romero on June 25, 1949. Frances help manage the family business at their service station for many years. She also worked at the Tower Motel and the laundromat. She enjoyed walking, playing bingo, listening to music and dancing and was a pool shark, but most of all Frances loved spending time with all her grandchildren. She was a member of St. Rose of Lima Parish and the Campos Senior Citizens. She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband Jose Santiago Romero, her sisters; Katy Romero and Adela Romero and her brother Eddie Garcia. Survivors include her children; Christine Castillo and husband Vincent of Oak Hills, CA, Louie Romero and wife Grace of Santa Rosa, Charlotte Chavez and husband Robert of Roswell and Diane Urban and husband Andy of Santa Rosa. Also surviving is her brother Carlos Sena of Clovis, 15 grandchildren, 42 great grandchildren and 3 great great grandchildren along with numerous nieces, nephews and a host of relatives and friends.
