Socorro Baca

Socorro Baca, 91, passed away peacefully on December 28, 2015 at the home of her daughter Louisa Ulibarri in Bloomfield, NM. She was born on March 22, 1924 In Pintada, NM to the home of Antonio and Aurora (Gauna) Esquibel. She attended schools in Pintada. Socorro enjoyed spending time with her beloved dog, Juju. In her younger days Socorro loved to garden, cook and share stories of her childhood. She could always tell a good story and she was quite the comedian. She brought much laughter to her children along with many stories that will be cherished and remembered. Socorro is preceded in death by her parents, all 18 of her siblings, her children, Gloria Baca, Alice Marquez and Gerald Baca, her grandchildren, Ernest and Jason Marquez and her beloved dog Juju. She is survived by her children, Candelaria Lucero of Milagro, Celedon Baca of Clovis, Anna Baca of Santa Rosa, Lillian Baca of Corpus Christi, TX, John Baca and wife Helen of Tucumcari, Don Baca and wife Coreen of Maxwell, NM, Frances Salas and husband Gil of Rowe, NM, Louisa Ulibarri and Marcos Pena of Bloomfield, NM, a daughter in law Jane Baca of Santa Rosa, son in law George Marquez of Santa Rosa, sister in law Marcelina Esquibel of Amarillo, TX, and brother in law Miguel Martinez of Santa Rosa along with a multitude of grandchildren, great grandchildren, great grandchildren, many nieces, nephews other family and friends. Rosary services will be held on Thursday, December 31, at 10:00 AM from St. Rose of Lima Church with Mass of Christian Burial to follow with Father Sotero A. Sena officiating. Burial will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery. Serving as Pallearers will be Gabriel Baca, Andrew Gonzales, Christopher Lucero, Alex Salas, Terry Lucero and Daniel Salas. Serving as Honorary Pallbearers will be John David Marquez, Joseph Marquez and Patrick Marquez. All services for Mrs. Baca have been entrusted to the Chavez Funeral Home, 923 S.
