Elizabeth Corrine Martinez, a lifelong resident of Santa Rosa, NM passed away peacefully on November 5, 2015 surrounded by her family, she was 79 years old. Elizabeth (Belle) was born on May 2, 1936 in Puerto De Luna, NM to Pelagio and Stella Anaya. She was married to her high school sweetheart and the love of her life Judge Joe Eddie Martinez on June 9, 1956 and they shared their lives for 55 years. Belle was a devoted and loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. Belle retired from the 1st National Bank after 26 years of service. She was a huge football fan and a strong supporter of the Santa Rosa lions. She was also a devout Catholic and an active member of the Santa Rosa De Lima Court 2276 of the Catholic Daughters of the Americas where she served as Regent, Financial Secretary and District Deputy. Belle loved spending time with her family and enjoyed cooking delicious family meals. Belle is preceded in death by her parents Pelagio and Stella Anaya, her husband Joe Eddie Martinez Sr., her sister Maida Gomez and Granddaughter Sara Calderon. She is survived by her children Francis (Nani) Calderon and husband Dean, Joe Jeff Martinez and wife Frances, Paul Martinez and wife Noelle, Martin Martinez, Joe Eddie Martinez, Jr. and wife Hope, Leslie Bradley and husband Dan and a granddaughter whom she helped raise Tanisha Lujan and husband Jeremy. Her brothers and sisters, Delfie Anaya and wife Linda, Victor Anaya and wife Anna, Gloria Spears and husband Alvin and Chris Gomez husband of late Maida Gomez as well as 15 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren. Rosary services will be held on Sunday, November 8, at 6:00 PM from St. Rose of Lima Church. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, November 9, at 10:00 AM also from St. Rose of Lima Church with Father Sotero A. Sena officiating. Burial will follow in the family plot at St. Joseph Cemetery. Serving as Pallbearers will be her grandsons, Jeffery Martinez, Nick Roybal, Michael Martinez, Joey Martinez, Jason Martinez and Daniel Bradley.
