Debra (Washburn) Paul, 55 of Clovis, NM passed away Monday, August 17, 2015 at Clovis Healthcare and Rehab Center following an illness. She was born February 14, 1960 in Espanola, NM to the home of Gerry Douglas Washburn and the former Mary Ross Wilmeth. She grew up all across New Mexico. Her family lived in Chama, Fort Sumner, Roy, Dora, Floyd, and Tucumcari. She graduated from Tucumcari High School in 1978. She attended Eastern New Mexico University in Portales where she received her Bachelor of Business Administration. Debra married Gordon Paul on October 30, 1985 in Albuquerque. Debra made her home in Clovis for the past 27 years and attended Faith Christian Family Church and First Christian Church. Debra was confined to a motorized wheelchair for many years. She was a woman of courage, and she never let her illness stop her from traveling across Clovis. She often had breakfast at a nearby McDonald's. She is preceded in death by her parents. Survivors include two daughters Meagan Paul of Roswell, Jordon (Jerrod) Long of Clovis, the father of her children Gordon Paul of Roswell, four grandchildren Allan James Paul of Roswell, Alivia Long, La'Trell Long, and Evelynn Long of Clovis, a sister Cindy Terry of Floyd, three brothers Gerry (Audrey) Washburn of Oregon, Scott (Dee) Washburn of Floyd, and Bruce (Crystal) Washburn of Raton, also surviving are 4 nieces and 8 nephews along with many other family and friends. Graveside services will be held at 10am Friday, August 21, 2015 at Fort Sumner Cemetery, Fort Sumner, NM. Pallbearers will include Gerry Washburn, Scott Washburn, Bruce Washburn, Jerrod Long, Coleman Young, and Cindy Terry. All arrangements are under the direction of Chavez Funeral Home, 830 N.
