Services for Patsy "Pat" Propps of Fort Sumner will be held at 10am Wednesday, July 22, 2015 at First Baptist Church with Anna Teeter-Gentile officiating. Burial will follow at Fort Sumner Cemetery. Pallbearers will include Frank Martz, Tim Archuleta, Dennis Rimer, Jeff Rimer, Brandon Rimer, and Charles Rimer. Honorary bearers will include special friends Allen and Nancy Sparks, Lavelle Wilson, Jerry and Linda Sparks, David Bailey, Suzanne Eldridge, Parilee Ulibarri, Anna Teeter, Dorothy Gutierrez, and Interim Hospice provider Cindy Terry. Visitation hours will be Tuesday from 1pm to 6pm at Chavez Funeral Home in Fort Sumner. The family of Patsy Propps will be at her home, 1026 E. Avenue E in Fort Sumner, NM. Patsy June Propps, age 74, passed away Thursday, July 16, 2015 at her daughter's home in Clovis, NM following an illness. She was born August 8, 1940 in Brownfield, Texas to the home of Charles Owen and Mabel Audrey (Davidson) Rimer. Her family moved to Denver City, TX where Patsy attended school and graduated from Denver City High School in 1958. Patsy married Gary Paul Propps in Brownfield, TX on December 21, 1963. They made their home in Fort Sumner and raised their family. Patsy worked for Dave's Grocery, Pecos Valley Care Center, and for 26 years served as the De Baca County Treasurer or Deputy Treasurer. She enjoyed bowling, crocheting, reading, playing bingo, and spending time with her family especially her grandchildren. Patsy is preceded in death by her parents, her husband Gary Propps on September 13, 2012, three brothers Bobby Rimer, Arnold Rimer, and Harold Wayne Rimer. Survivors include two daughters Debbie Ulibarri and husband Louis of Clovis, and Diane Friend of Fort Sumner, three brothers Stan Rimer and wife Ardeth of Brownfield, TX, Raymond Rimer and wife Pam of Lake Kiowa, TX, and Danny Rimer and wife Penny of Brownfield, TX. Also surviving are four grandchildren Jennifer Ulibarri, Samantha Ulibarri, Camille Ulibarri, of Clovis and Jeremy Propps of Fort Sumner, three great-grandchildren Kyson Ulibarri, Kynlee Ulibarri, and Zayla Willmot all of Clovis along with a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.
