Rosary services for Mr. Jose Horacio Olguin, age 84, will be held on Monday April 27, at 6:00 PM from San Jose Catholic Church in Anton Chico. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, April 28 at 10:00 AM also from San Jose Church with Father Mondragon officiating. Burial will follow at the Sangre De Cristo Cemetery in Upper Anton Chico. Serving as Pallbearers will be Evaristo Tenorio, Jr., Randy Tenorio, Everette Tenorio Darren Tenorio, Martin Romero, Albino Hern, Felipe Romero, Florencio Olguin, Jr., Steve Baca Jr., Chris Esquibel, Napoleon Baca and Blas Martinez. Serving as Honorary Pallbearers will be Jake Olguin, Luis Baca, Gilbert Velasquez, Adolfo Romero, Gabriel Romero, Abel Olguin, Peter Padilla and all of Mr. Olguin’s great grandchildren. Horacio passed away on April 23, at his home in Upper Anton Chico following an illness. He was born on October 7, 1930 in Anton Chico to the home of Narciso and Apolonia (Castillo) Olguin. Horacio married Juanita Baca on September 24, 1954 at the San Jose Church in Anton Chico. He was a lifelong resident of Anton Chico. Horacio worked as a mechanic and a carpenter. Family members fondly remember that he was a hard worker and always providing for his family. He enjoyed gardening, crafts, playing the violin and guitar. Horacio also made several homemade violins which he was extremely proud of. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather and will truly be missed. He is preceded in death by his parents, his son Horacio Olguin, Jr. and son’s inlaw, Jerry Tenorio and Evaristo Tenorio. Survivors include his wife Juanita of the family home in Upper Anton Chico, his children, Steven Baca and wife Dorothy of Puerto De Luna, Rose Tenorio of Santa Rosa, Christine Tenorio of Tecolotito, Camila Olguin of Upper Anton Chico, Albert Olguin of Upper Anton Chico and Florencio Olguin and wife Roberta of Santa Rosa. Also surviving are his brothers and sisters, Narcisco Olguin of Upper Anton Chico, Juan Olguin and wife Clara of Upper Anton Chico, Marcella Martinez of Edgewood and Marcelina Baca and husband Juan of Dahlia, his sister in law Candida Baca of Anton Chico along with 16 grandchildren, 26 great grandchildren and a host of relatives and friends. Visitation will be held on Monday, April 27 from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM from the Chavez Funeral Home. All services for Mr. Olguin have been entrusted to the Chavez Funeral Home of Santa Rosa.
