Michael Chavez, age 59, passed away on April 14, at his home following an illness. Michael was born on January 31, 1956 in Santa Rosa, NM to the home of Ronald Chavez and Frances Madrid. He was reared and attended schools in Norwalk and Monterey, California. Michael married Priscilla Chacon in 1991 in Santa Rosa. He worked as a chef for many years at the Club Café which his parents owned and operated and was also a very well know sign painter. He loved gardening and was considered a master gardener. He also enjoyed cooking and fishing. Michael was a talented man, he was a carpenter, and he played the guitar and was an overall intellectual person. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather He is preceded in death by his father Ronald Chavez, his Paternal Grandparents Pete and Louisa Chavez, Maternal Grandparents Andy and Betty Valverde. Michael is survived by his wife Priscilla of the family home in Santa Rosa, his twin daughters Ashley Bailey and husband Daniel of Portales, Amber Chavez and boyfriend Daniel Rivera of Santa Rosa, his Grandson Gabriel Rivera, his mother and stepfather, Frances and Lorenzo Delgado of Santa Rosa, his brothers and sisters, Robert Chavez of Santa Rosa, Steve Chavez of Santa Rosa, Lorraine Chavez of Rio Rancho, Christina Cowan and husband Patrick of Albuquerque, Sonia Valdez and husband Vince of Albuquerque. Also surviving are his brothers in law, Richard Lopez and wife Linda of San Diego, CA, Joe Chacon of Santa Rosa, sister in law Carmella Bradley of Albuquerque and his Uncle, Christian Madrid of Norwalk, CA along with numerous Uncles, Aunts, Cousins and a host of relatives and friends. Cremation has taken place and a Memorial Service will be held on Friday, April 17, at 10:00 AM at the Blue Hole Convention Center with Mr. Lorenzo Delgado and Mr. Richard Lopez Officiating.
