Angie Serrano

April 14, 1937 — January 6, 2015

ANGELA G. SERRANO, age 77 of Santa Rosa, New Mexico, was called home by our savior to ease her pain and suffering so that she may sing with the Angels to smile upon her family and friends… comforting us wrapped in her angels wings. She was born to Lucio Gerhardt and Selina Cepriana Aragon on April 14, 1937 in Yeso, New Mexico where she was also raised. She was met by Charles H. Serrano and the two were quickly overcome with affection for each other. Charles and Angela married on June 23, 1952 and made their home in Santa Rosa. Angie was a homemaker raising 10 children then loving and caring for countless grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren. She was a loving caring person to her husband and family including in-laws, nephews, nieces, friends, neighbors and all she met… greeting everyone with an adoring smile a hug a kiss and compassion. With that love and compassion she became a Den Mother with the local Cub Scouts guiding local children. She became a Catechism Teacher for the St Rose of Lima Parish teaching the message, liturgy, worship, mission and service of the Catholic Faith. She then began to share with us her love of music, becoming a part of a parish choir, piercing us with her beautiful voice. Continuing her kindness and compassion, through her adoration of her faith she was called to join the Catholic Daughters of the Americas where she served alongside many dear friends in the mission of spreading Unity and Charity to people and families in the community. Angie’s love of flowers and gardening brought her to join the Santa Rosa Garden Club District 3 of the New Mexico Garden Clubs where she served as president helping plan and execute many of the organizations community and State activities, again with many dear and loving friends. She enjoyed her family and friends spoiling and comforting them with her cooking, baking, knitting and crocheting countless keepsake items, and the times she found to relax she painted and read to unwind. Beyond housekeeping she found time to enter the workforce in Santa Rosa where she cemented many friendships while employed at the First National Bank, the Truckstops of America and the Super 8 Motel. Angela was preceded in death by her Father and Mother, her Son Albert S. Serrano and Grandson Francisco Delgado, Loving in-laws, nephews and nieces. She leaves her husband of 62 years Charles H. Serrano, Daughter Bertille and her husband Mark Delgado of Albuquerque NM, Daughter Charlene Urban of Santa Fe NM, Daughter Darlene and her husband Leroy Bonney of Santa Rosa NM, Son Enrico Serrano and his wife Lucille of Milagro NM, Son Ferrante Joe Serrano and his wife Barbara of Santa Rosa NM, Daughter Gwendolyn Serrano of Santa Rosa NM, Son Hilario Serrano and his wife Lori of Taos NM, Son Ian John Serrano and his wife Yolanda of Santa Rosa NM, Son Jorge Serrano and his wife Michelle of Santa Rosa NM, Grandson and Son of Albert, Jason Serrano and his wife Jeatonne of Edgewood NM.
