Santa Rosa native Antonia Olivia Apodaca, age 55 passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, Octobr 18, 2014 in Tucumcari, NM. “Olivia” as she was affectionately known was born on June 13, 1959 in Fort Sumner, NM to the home of Manuel Apodaca, Jr. and Isidora Lola Saiz. Olivia Attended schools In Santa Rosa graduating from Santa Rosa High School in 1977; she then attended Eastern New Mexico University in Portales. Olivia is preceded in death by her paternal grandparents Manuel T. and Rosa Sisneros Apodaca, Maternal Grandparents Abel Sr. and Eufelia Baca Saiz, Uncles; Donato Saiz, Adelaido Saiz, Lucario (Leo) Saiz and Abel Saiz, Jr., her Aunts Otilia Apodaca Martinez, Magdalena Saiz, Mary Saiz Ortega, Agnes Saiz Seidel and Esther Saiz Alarid, her cousins Virginia Saiz, Rose Saiz White, JoAnn Saiz Martinez, Mary Ann Saiz Torres, Theresa Saiz Chavez, Gerard Saiz, Ramon (Boo Boo ) Saiz, Gilbert (Beto) Saiz and Ramon Saiz. Survivors Include her two sons, Adrian Apodaca of Santa Rosa and Michael Anthony Apodaca of Raleigh, North Carolina, her parents Manual Apodaca, Jr. and Isidora Lola Saiz, her brothers Edwin Dale Apodaca, Leroy Apodaca and wife Mary Dale and Mark Apodaca, her grandchildren, Jose` Saiz, Jarric Apodaca, Jarius Apodaca, Jace Apodaca, Michael Hunter Apodaca, Anthony Maurice Apodaca and Olivia Lola Saiz, along with numerous uncles, aunts, cousins and a host of relatives and friends. Olivia lived most of her life in Santa Rosa but for the past few years she made her home in Tucumcari. Rosary services will be held on Friday, October 31, 2014 at 10:00 AM. Memorial Mass will be celebrated immediately following the rosary with Father Sotero A. Sena Officiating. Burial of cremains will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery.
