Stella M. Beltran, beloved Mother, Grandmother and lifetime resident of Tucumcari, New Mexico, passed away Thursday Sept. 4th in her home with daughters Diana and Phyllis by her bedside. She encouraged and inspired many children while working as a teacher’s aide to continue with their education. She represented the elderly whenever state government officials visited Tucumcari. One of her most memorable accomplishment was that at the age of 36 she returned to complete 4 years of night school to earn a high school diploma. She was inspired by an I Love Lucy episode where Lucy returned to get her high school degree. She is survived by sister Jenny Justice, daughters Diana Sandoval of Tucumcari NM, Phyllis and husband Victor Garcia of Albuquerque NM, Roberta Beltran of Fort Worth, TX; three sons George and wife Darlene Beltran of Dallas, TX., Lawrence Beltran of Derby, KS., and Phillip Jr. and wife Jennifer Beltran of Menasha, WI; granddaughters Khrishana Sandoval, Bianca and husband Chris Guerrero, Michelle Garcia, Kasarah Bennett, Brittany Bennett, Leticia Beltran, Lencia Beltran, Kristen Beltran, Aspen Beltran, Dallas Beltran; grandsons Jo Jo Sandoval, Victor Garcia, George Beltran Jr., Jason Beltran, Jerick and wife Wynter Beltran, Jordan Bennett, Danny Beltran, Manuel and wife Becky Beltran; great-granddaughters Shanelle Martinez, Sierra Sandoval, Jazzy Sandoval, Aubrey Ortiz, great-grandsons Shawn Martinez, Santiago Arias, Seth Arias, Savior Guerrero and Sammy Guerrero. She is preceded in death by her husband Phillip Beltran Sr., parents Encarnacion and Isidoro Martinez, three sisters Mary Smith, Anna Aragon and Josephine Bliss, four brothers Chano, Augustine, Joe, and Richard Martinez, and great-granddaughter Destiny Beltran. Rosary services will be held on Friday, September 12, at 7:00 PM from St. Anne’s Catholic Church in Tucumcari. Memorial Mass will be celebrated on Saturday, September 13, at 10:00 AM also at St. Anne’s Church with burial of cremains to follow at Tucumcari Memorial Park.
