Graveside services for Charles "Chucky" Patterson, 49 of Fort Sumner will be held at 10am Thursday, July 3, 2014 at St. Anthony Cemetery in Fort Sumner with Deacon Edward Sena officiating. Charles Oliver Patterson, was born July 2, 1964 in Calhoun, Michigan to the home of Charles Oliver Olson and the former Rayanna Patterson. He passed away on Friday, June 27, 2014 at his Fort Sumner home. Charles, known to his family and friends and "Chucky" attended Fort Sumner schools and graduated with the Class of 1983. He worked for several years in the seismograph business across the country. He worked for Professional Services Incorporated of Albuquerque testing rock and dirt samples for several years including the construction of the new Denver Airport. He returned to Fort Sumner for a few years in 1993 and made his home here in 2011. Chucky was a member of St. Anthony Catholic Church in Fort Sumner. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus Council 8331 in Fort Sumner and a past member of the Mosquito's band. Charles is preceded in death by his mother Rayanna Patterson in 1988, his maternal grandmother who raised him, Ramona Patterson in 2003 and a brother James Patterson. Survivors include three children, Charles O. Patterson and his wife Brittany of Monroe, LA, Laree Patterson of Las Cruces, and Estevan Chavez of Fort Sumner, two brothers Franklin Patterson and his wife Myrna of Albuquerque, David Michael Patterson and his wife Barbara of Clovis, one sister Zina Hatt and her husband Nolan of Jonesboro, Maine, three grandchildren Ryder Patterson, Christian Patterson, and Christopher Patterson, along with a host of relatives and many friends.
