Tamara Achen

Mrs. Tamara Kay Achen, 75 of Yeso, NM passed away at her home on Monday, May 5, 2014 following an illness. Tamara was born on March 28, 1939 in Park Rapids, MN to the home of Veldon Paul Szuszitzky and the former Mariam Ester Myres. She was raised and went to school in Albuquerque, NM and graduated from Highland High School. Tamara married Jack Achen on February 7, 1959. They moved to Yeso, NM and made it their home in 1961. She owned and operated a school bus route for the Fort Sumner Schools for 18 years. Tamara was a loving wife and mother, as well as a very generous and giving person.  She was a member of the Yeso Baptist Church and The Country Church. She enjoyed crafting, gardening, cooking and offering support and goodies to all her friends and family.She is preceded in death by her parents.Tamara is survived by her husband of 55 years, Jack Achen of the family home; a son J. O. Achen and wife Marikay of Yeso, NM; a daughter Tracy Fair and husband Andy of Clovis, NM; 8 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren as well as a brother Tom Szuszitsky and wife Janet of Prescott, AZ.Visitation hours will be Wednesday from 1pm to 6pm at the funeral home. Graveside services will be held at 10am, Thursday, May 8, 2014 at the Yeso Cemetery, Yeso, New Mexico with Mr. Charlie Overton officiating. Pallbearers will be Dennis Cleaver, Lewis Hisel, Alan Caraway, Lee Groff, James West, Chris Copeland, Ronnie Merritt, and Stephen Ratliff.The family requests memorial contributions in memory of Tamary Achen to the American Cancer Society P.O.
