A rosary service for Eric Aragon will be recited at 7pm Wednesday, April 2, 2014 at the Chavez Funeral Home Chapel in Fort Sumner. Funeral services will be held at 10am Thursday, April 3, 2014 at The Church on The Hill in Fort Sumner, NM with Sister Anna Teeter officiating. Burial will follow at Fort Sumner Cemetery. Pallbeares will be Benny Aragon, Ricky Aragon, Anthony Aragon, Phillip Aragon, Jonathan Aragon, David Gauna, Michael Gauna, Ernesto Aragon. Honorary bearers will be all his family and many friends.Visitation hours will be Wednesday from 1pm to 6pm at the Funeral Home.Eric Aragon, age 39, of Santa Rosa and formerly of Fort Sumner, NM was born May 7, 1974 to the home of Richard E. and Barbara (Gauna) Aragon. He passed away Friday, March 28, 2014 in an automobile accident near Santa Rosa. Eric grew up in Fort Sumner and attended Fort Sumner schools. Growing up in Fort Sumner, Eric worked for Tito Gonzales as a cook at Tito's Cafe. For the past nine years he has worked as a supervisor for NM Travertine and Rock Quarry at their pit located near Milagro, NM. On weekends he worked for Carl Jr's in Santa Rosa. According to his family he had a good work ethic and was a great family provider. He attended St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church while living in Santa Rosa the past 11 years. Eric enjoyed spending time with his family, working on his pickup, fishing, and being outdoors.He is preceded in death by his father Richard E. Aragon, his maternal grandparents Catarino and Juanita Gauna, and his paternal grandmother Alice Keever.Eric is survived by his fiancee Elizabeth Robles of Santa Rosa, six children, three daughters Sherissa Roybal of Portales, Victoria Aragon of Santa Rosa, and Sarah Aragon of Fort Sumner, three sons Anthony Aragon of Fort Sumner, Jonathan Aragon of Santa Rosa, and Jeremiah Aragon of Santa Rosa, six grandchildren Damien, Bentley, and Aria Jiminez of Santa Rosa, Nickolis, Abel, and Yliana Gutierrez all of Portales, also surviving is his mother Barbara Aragon of Fort Sumner, two brothers Benjamin Aragon and his wife Jacqueline of Vaughn and Ricky Aragon of Fort Sumner along with a host of other relatives and many friends.Arrangements are under the direction of Chavez Funeral Home, 830 N.
