Funeral services for Jesse Peter Sandoval, 36 of Canoncito, NM will be held at 2pm Wednesday, April 2, 2014 at The Church on The Hill in Fort Sumner, NM with Anna Teeter officiating, burial will follow at Fort Sumner Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Celeste Sandoval, Ivy Sandoval, Patience Sandoval, Monique Velasquez, Ulysess Gaona, Alazerio Sandoval, Desi Padilla, and Apollos Sandoval Sr. Honorary bearers will include Randle Sandoval, Francisco Velasquez, Phillip Delgadillo, Peter Paul Sandoval, Jimmy Secatero, and Joseph Anaya. Jesse passed away at his Canoncito home on Thursday, March 27, 2014.He was born May 4, 1977 in Albuquerque the son of Francisco and Priscilla Marie (Sandoval) Velasquez. He grew up in Albuquerque, NM, Chico, CA, Fort Sumner and Canoncito. He attended Citrus Elementary School in Chico, CA and junior high and high school in Fort Sumner. He was a member of the Boy Scouts of America while living in Fort Sumner and worked for Dave's Grocery Store and Stewart Henry.Jesse worked for Dennis Buckman at Canoncito Grocery, and in Albuquerque he worked for Giant and Chevron, he also worked for Tierra West as a handyman. He was currently working with his family at Canoncito Desert Oasis in Canoncito. Jesse enjoyed fishing, knife throwing, and all outdoor activities. According to his family Jesse was very talented, he enjoyed juggling, was an accomplished carpenter, and very knowledgable electrician. He also knew how to sew and was the king of the grill at all family gatherings.Jesse is preceded in death by his maternal great-grandparents Jesse and Dorles Wickham, his maternal grandfather David Sandoval Sr., paternal grandparents Carlota and Francisco Velasquez Sr., two aunts Gladys Smith, Pauletta Sue Gaona Sandoval and Grace Gardner and a very special cousin Jerry Ann Wickham.Survivors include a daughter Cleo Dakota Sandoval and a son Jett Payton Sandoval of Albuquerque, his parents Francisco and Priscilla Velasquez of Canoncito, NM, maternal grandmother Gayl Sandoval of Canoncito, three sisters Patience Marie Sandoval of Albuquerque, Ivy Pearl Sandoval and Monique Belle Velasquez of Canoncito, two nieces Serenity Marie and Divine Marie Sandoval of Albuquerque along with many aunts, uncles, other relatives and many friends.Arrangements are under the direction of Chavez Funeral Home, 830 N.
