Tim Tallman Sr.

Timothy Noel Tallman, 64 of Fort Sumner passed away Sunday, December 8, 2013 at his home. He was born March 25, 1949 in Lompog, California to the home of John C. and Pearl (Bowlin) Tallman. Tim attended primary school in California and Arizona. He later moved to Fort Sumner where he lived with his grandmother, Stella Bowlin. Tim attended and graduated from Fort Sumner High School in 1968. He participated in track while in high school. Tim worked as a real estate surveyor for many years. Tim married Betty Bryan in St. Thomas, Virgin Islands on February 14, 1996. Tim continued to work as a surveyor until his retirement in 2008. In 2010 he moved to North Carolina so his son, Thaddeus could attend high school. Tim recently moved back to Fort Sumner and enjoyed the time he spent visiting with his friends, neighbors and high school classmates. Tim enjoyed model trains, sailing, and especially enjoyed spending time with his family, this was very important to him. Everyone liked Tim; he was always the optimist, with a positive attitude, always willing to go out of his way to help others. His family remembers him as a loving dad, husband, and step-dad. Tim is preceded in death by his parents, and his maternal grandparents Floyd and Stella Bowlin. Tim will be missed by his wife Betty Tallman of St. Thomas, Virgin Islands, his children, Timothy Tallman Jr. and his fiance Michelle Boateng of Crookston, MN, Thaddeus Tallman of Crookstown, MN, Manuel Lopez of the U.S. Virgin Islands, Richard Berry of Chapel Hill, NC, Zachery Berry of Pittsboro, NC, Betteba Lopez Blanchard and her husband Gearard of St. Thomas, Virgin Islands, Roseanna Berry Lopez and her husband Manuel D. Lopez of St. Thomas, Virgin Islands, Stacy Tallman of Portland, OR, and Randy Tallman of Portland, OR. Also surviving are 13 grandchildren, his two brothers Garth Tallman and his wife Olga of Albuquerque, NM, Jock Tallman of Ruidoso, NM, a nephew Sergei Matseyuk of Tucson, AZ and two nieces Melissa Tallman and Charlotte Tallman of Las Cruces, NM along with a host of other relatives and many friends. Funeral services will be held at 9:00 am Thursday, December 12, 2013 at the Chavez Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Mike Stahl, Pastor of First United Methodist Church officiating. Cremation will take place following the services and Tim's cremated remains will be returned to St. Thomas, Virgin Islands. Arrangements are under the direction of Chavez Funeral Home, 830 N.
