Martin "Pache" Baca, 54 of Santa Rosa, passed away peacefully Friday, September 20, 2013 at UNM Hospital in Albuquerque following an illness. Martin was born September 16, 1959 to the home of Frank and Clorie (Nelson) Baca. Martin is a 1978 graduate of Santa Rosa High School. Pache's love for the outdoors included fishing, hunting, hiking and especially his chile garden. He enjoyed sports including keeping up with the UNM Lobos, watching the Dallas Cowboy with his many friends and cheering on his Santa Rosa Lions. Martin is preceded in death by his mother, Clorie Baca, and his brother Joe Albert "J.G." Baca , his grandparents Frank and Leandra Baca, and Albert and Isabel Nelson. Survivors include his father Frank Baca Jr., a son Derek Baca, his brothers Leo Moya and wife Maria, Jimmy Baca and wife Tina, David Baca, Alex Baca and wife Kathleen, Leroy Baca and wife Deborah, his sisters Kika Baca and Trinidad Navarro, Netta Montgomery and husband Steve, Anna Baca, and Carolyn Baca and Jose Ayala. Also surviving are numerous friends and relatives including his special aunt Emily Chavez. Visitation hours will be Monday and Tuesday from 1pm 6pm at the funeral home. Rosary services will be held at 7:00 pm Tuesday, September 24, 2013 at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church in Santa Rosa. Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 am Wednesday, September 25th from the church with Father Thomas Kayamakkal officiating. Burial will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery. Pallbearers will include Benny Sanchez, David Baca, Jose Ayala, Chris Tenorio, Albert Elevario, Bobby Lopez, Albert Gutierrez, Mark Montano, and John Montano.
