Joe Freddy Lucero

Joe Freddy Lucero, 54 of Albuquerque, NM died Saturday, June 8, 2013 following an illness. He was born September 5, 1958 in Fort Sumner, NM to the home of Pilar and Maggie (Lopez) Lucero. He attended Fort Sumner Schools. Freddy worked in the construction business for many years. He enjoyed spending time with his family, was a hard working man, and had a great sense of humor. Freddy is preceded in death by his parents, two brothers David Lopez and Pilar Lucero Jr. Survivors include his wife Mary Lou Nieto, two daughters Melissa Hill and husband Andre, Angel Lucero, a son Alfred Nieto and wife Sierra all of Albuquerque, four sisters Lorena Lovato and family of Fort Sumner, Esperanza Barela and husband Daniel and family of Albuquerque, Isabel Lucero-Abeyta and husband Santiago and family of Albuquerque, Tana Sena and husband Jose and family of Clovis, a brother Pete Lucero and wife Pauline of Albuquerque, five grandchildren Angelina Silva, Samantha Silva, De'Janell Smith, Faith Hill, and Andrew Hill all of Albuquerque. Funeral services will be held at St. Anthony Catholic Church in Fort Sumner, NM. A rosary will be recited at 9:30 am Wednesday, June 19, 2013, funeral Mass will follow at 10:00 am. Father Paul Nkumbi will officiate. Burial will follow at St. Anthony Cemetery. Local arrangements are under the direction of Chavez Funeral Home, 830 N. Fifth Street, Fort Sumner, New Mexico.
