Vincent Sanchez

Vincent “Vinny” Lawrence Sanchez, 41 of Vaughn, NM died Monday, May 6, 2013 at his home. He was born February 18, 1972 to the home of Don and Bernice (Aragon) Sanchez. He graduated from Vaughn High School in 1991. Vincent married Roberta Sanchez on June 11, 1993 in Clovis, NM. He was employed for the NM Department of Transportation, Vaughn Patrol for the past 14 years. He also worked part time for Penny's Diner and drove for Ratzenberger Transportation Company. Vincent was a member of the Vaughn Volunteer Fire Department and the San Jose Society in Duran, NM. He enjoyed the outdoors, hunting and fishing. He participated in the NMDOT heavy equipment rodeo. He enjoyed spending time with his family working livestock with his nephews Aaron, Matthew and his cunado. He was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Vaughn. Vincent is preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Elias and Mela Aragon, paternal grandparents Antonio and Concha Sanchez, uncle Albert Aragon, cousin Gary Dean Archibeque, “Grandma” Ida Sanchez, and brother in law Aaron Nelson. Vincent was a loving husband, son, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, co-worker and friend. He will be dearly missed by his wife Roberta Sanchez of Vaughn, NM, his parents Don and Bernice Sanchez of Vaughn, three daughters Felicia Sanchez and husband Charlie of Moriarty, Heather Sanchez and Cassandra Sanchez of Albuquerque, granddaughter Leticia Jinzo and step grandchildren Raymond, James and Gabriel Jinzo, A brother Martin (Ladonna) Sanchez of Portales, NM, sister Mariposa (Chad) Belew of San Antonio, TX, a sister-in-law Shellia (Chris) Armijo of Vaughn, three brothers-in-law Mark (Lee) Madrid, Norman Madrid all of Vaughn, and Robert (Dommy) Madrid of Ocean Side, CA. Also surviving are numerous nieces and nephews including Donavin (Cassie) Sanchez, of Lovington, J.T. Sanchez of Portales, and Jayden Belew of San Antonio, TX, his Godchildren Angel Madrid, Jasmine Madrid, Matthew Nelson, Blanca Lozano, Dominic Jackson, Jaxon Belew, and Kyra Lozano along with numerous cousins, other relatives, many friends and co-workers. Visitation will be Thursday from 1pm to 6pm, Friday from 1pm to 4pm at the Chavez Funeral Home in Fort Sumner, and Friday from 6pm to 7pm at the church. Rosary services will be held at 7:00 pm Friday, May 10, 2013 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Vaughn, NM. Mass will be celebrated from the church at 10:00 am Saturday, May 11, 2013 with Father Paul Nkumbi officiating. Burial will follow at Evergreen Cemetery, Vaughn, New Mexico. Pallbearers will include Jaime Lozano, Anthony Gallegos, Aaron Nelson, Matthew Nelson, Donavin Sanchez, J.T. Sanchez, Fabian Madrid, Chris Armijo, Chad Belew, Charlie Jinzo, Antonio Castillo, and Angel Madrid. Honorary bearers will be his great nephew Hazen Sanchez, the NMDOT Vaughn Patrol, and all his cousins. All arrangements are under the direction of Chavez Funeral Home, 830 N.
