Gilbert Saiz

Gilbert J. Saiz, age 62, passed away on April 26, 2013 at the Guadalupe Count Hospital following an illness. Gilbert was born on May 9, 1950 in Santa Rosa, NM to the home of Adelaido and Dolores (Barela) Saiz. He was reared and attended schools in Santa Rosa. Gilbert was an artist and loved to draw and paint. He loved listening to music and writing poetry. He is preceded in death by his parents, his sisters Joann Gallegos and Mary Ann Torres and his brother Raymond Saiz. Survivors include his grandmother Esmeralda Barela of Santa Rosa, his brothers and sisters, Jane Garcia of Albuquerque, Mary Jaramillo of Los Lunas, Frances Ulibarri and husband Thomas of Santa Rosa, Dolores Coronado of Albuquerque, Teresa Lopez of Santa Rosa, Terry Chavez of Arizona, Annabelle Saiz of Santa Rosa, Joe Saiz of Farmington, Robert Saiz of Albuquerque and Paul Lorenzo Saiz of Albuquerque. Also surviving are numerous nieces and nephews and a host of friends. Funeral services will be held on Monday, April 29, 2013 at 10:00 AM from the Chavez Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Larry Sandoval officiating. Burial will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery. Serving as Pallbearers will be, Rex Lucero, Rex Saiz, Michael Saiz, Thomas Ulibarri, Robert Saiz, Sr. and Robert Saiz, Jr. All services for Mr. Saiz have been entrusted to the Chavez Funeral Home of Santa Rosa.
